The Food and Drug Administration has issued a notice based on the safety of Innohep (Tinzaparin).  Innohep is an anticoagulant.  The notice is based on a European Study that found increased rates of death in the patients taking Innohep.

It is estimated that from 2001 to 2007 more than 32 million people have used Innohep.  In 2008 the manufacturer revised its labeling to restrict the use of Innohep in patients over the age of 90 years.
